Because if we can teach developing countries, safe, clean and sustainable agriculture, then maybe we won't have the massive food shortages we have today. What was new in February
January's podcast was a bit different from the other ones. I combined poetry, photographs, sketches and music into one video. Click here to listen to it, or go to he podcasts page and follow the link from there. Later, either this month or next I will hopefully finished the DVD of January's podcast. This DVD will have an additional video track, be of much higher video quality and therefore easier to read, a 5.1 surround sound audio track, and will come with a pdf booklet along with some other extras.
Furthermore, I have posted two sketches, The Sentinels and The Other Side which you can either download directly by clicking on their titles, or by going to the arts works page and following the links from there. Also, these sketches are posted on the page, sketches two.
There is also a new poetry ebook on the poetry page titled Around the Haunted Corner. I should have posted it in January but was too busy dealing with new job, old job and other things of that sort. Also I have been chosen by the editor of Quill and Ink Webzine, Anirban Ray Choudhury, for the best poem published on the net in 2006. I believe the voting is closed, but click here if you want to view the page and try voting for me! My entry is down towards the bottom of the page.
Finally, my third CD, The Ever Changing Night, is finished and on its way to The Orchard for release on different sites. When it is up and for sale, I will post more information.
What was new in December
First off all I posted this month's podcast, click here to listen to it, or go to he podcasts page and follow the link from there. I have also decided to make the podcasts from now on video casts instead of just radio ones. It is a bit more fun to listen to the music with better graphics, or shall I say panning photos instead of just still ones? Also I am starting to learn basic video effects using Motion which I used to create the opening butterflies in the title.
Finally I have finished a new sketch, The Surrounding, which you can either download directly by clicking here, or by going to the arts works page and following the links from there. Also, this sketch is posted on a new page, sketches two. I decided to keep only 12 sketches to a page to save on download time for people with low bandwidth connections.
Hope everyone has a happy Christmas and all that Jazz!

What was New in October!
The Japanese school year is back in full swing. However I did manage to record 3 new songs. I decided to group these three compositions together into something called The Halloween Suite. Their titles are: Mad Jack, Under the Haunted Moon, and Trick or Treat. Finally I posted them all as a podcast. You can access them by either clicking here or by going to the podcast page and then navigating from there. I updated this page this month and posted links to each individual podcast. Finally for those who want if you click on or type http://web.mac.com/epallan/iWeb/EP%20Allan/Podcast/Podcast.html in your browser this will take you to the .mac site where all 10 podcasts are posted.
Also this podcast has some of the black and white pics I have already uploaded to the site as a PDF file.
Hope you enjoy the songs.
Have a good month and take care.
What was New in September!
First, on the poetry page there is a new chapbook titled It's not that We are sometimes Alone and which can be downloaded for free, which represents the poetry written in July and August. Also speaking of poetry this last August I went to a conference in Prague (Expanding Human Consciousness) where I gave a poetry reading. Later some of my poems will be printed in a book of the papers presented there. I will post a link to it when it comes about.
Second I placed a new sketch Odysseus' Oar on the sketch page.
Third, I paced one podcast last month and a new one this month on the mac site. To download and listen to them click here.
What was New in June!
First, my second album Bluescapes is now available at Emusic.com, Music Now, and iTunes US. When it is available at more stores I will update the links.
Second, I am starting to work out how to use Paypal to make ordering the passwords a lot easier. For any onder I will need your email address because I will email the password to you. Please give me a couple of days to do this because some weekends I have to travel and am not able to connect with the internet.
Third, besides teaching I am currently working on a third album (The Ever Changing Night), a new sketch, and of course a new poetry E-chapbook. Hopefully, I can get both the sketch and the chapbook finished by the end of June.
What Was New In May!
First, to the people at The University of Leipzig who have been visiting my site: Welcome. I am still waiting for the album Bluescapes to become available. It has been sent to the stores but for some reason they haven't posted it yet. As soon as it becomes available I will post the links.
Second, I have posted a new PDF poetry book, In the Eternal Deep Dark, on the poetry page and have update dated some of the publications.
Third I have also placed another song, In the Forest of Night, which I am not going to include on an album for downloading. To play it you can either click on the above link or go to the music page and click on the link for Always Returning. I hope you enjoy it. Also a brief note, the other week I found out that there was a band named The Green Day. When I named my first album I didn't know this. I did an album search through iTunes, Amazon, and eMusic and did not find any such title. Let me just say that I live in Japan, do not listen to the radio, and only listen to electronic, jazz and classical music, so my chances of hearing about the band were very slim. For any of you who thought I was involved with this group, I apologize.
Fourth, my new semester has gotten off to a somewhat rocky start. I am teaching around 250 students -- and about 120 of those are studying composition. This means that I might not be able to update the site as much as I would like. However, I am trying to find a better way for people to be able to order the books, guides, etc and have been looking at how to incorporate paypall in the site. As soon as the teaching load settles into a reasonable routine I will make it so.
What was new in April!
First of all my latest music album (Bluescapes)should be released sometime during the middle of this month! Click here to go to the Bluescapes page for information about the songs, and a downloadable cover booklet. Once it is released I will post samples.
For those of you who want, I have also posted 3 mixes of the same song, Always Returning. This EP can be found by clicking here or by going to the music page and then clicking on the link. You are free to download it. However you will need a player which can play AIF files like iTunes.
Besides writing continuing to write poetry I am working on a third recording. This recording is going to be titled The Ever Changing Night. All of the songs are about different the different stages of night and will have the same title with different subtitles. I am also busy studying new applications. Currently I am working with Motion, a professional graphics package. I hope to be able to make better tour guides and animations for some of the songs.
What was new in March
First of all I just sent the latest music album (Bluescapes) to The Orchard for digital release. It should be available at different download stores in about 3 months if everything goes well. Click here to go to the Bluescapes page for information about the songs, and a downloadable cover booklet.
Second I am releasing a fourth poetry e-chapbook titled Beyond the Splintered Walls of Moon. Once again it is free to download but cannot be printed nor altered without some donation. Click here to go to the Poetry page.
Third I am placing some digital panoramic photographs taken in Kyoto. I created the panoramas in Photoshop using Photomerge. To view them you can go to the Artworks page and click on the link or you can go directly by clicking the Panorama link here. *Note this page will take a long time to download if you do not have a broadband connection.
First of all I completed the Black and White Photograph PDF Book titled From Japan which can be downloaded after the password is purchased. Also I corrected the link so that the 10 page sample booklet can also be downloaded.
Secondly I have started to run Podcasts off of my .mac account and have provided the links for this on the Podcast page. I hope to be able to keep making one every week. Also if you do download one, please send me your rankings, 0-5 stars, on how much you like the songs. The podcasts are also available in iTunes under the title The Traveler's Eye.
Third, I have scanned 6 of the haiku I did with ink drawings and have now posted them. Click here to view them directly or go to the Artworks link. I did these many years ago back when I was studying Japanese. I wrote the haiku first in Japanese, bothered my friends until they corrected my grammar, then wrote them in English and lastly illustrated them.
